Introducing "Headphones & Heartbreaks: A 60-Day Musical Journey to Bouncing Back from Heartbreak"

Are you a Black woman navigating the pain of heartbreak and searching for a way to heal emotionally, spiritually, and mentally? You don’t have to go through it alone, and you don’t have to stay in a place of hurt. "Headphones & Heartbreaks" was created just for you—a deeply personal, 60-day devotional experience designed to restore your heart and guide you toward peace.

This devotional is more than just a book—it’s a holistic, transformational journey that blends the power of scripture, affirmations, spiritual reflection, and a curated music playlist. We understand that healing from heartbreak isn’t linear, so the book allows you to skip around based on your emotions. Whether you’re grieving, angry, hopeful, or ready to rebuild, this journey will walk alongside you, giving you the spiritual tools and inspiration to move forward.

What You'll Achieve After 60 Days:

1. Emotional Renewal: By the end of this journey, you’ll feel lighter, more empowered, and emotionally resilient. You’ll have worked through the pain of heartbreak and emerged with a deeper understanding of yourself and your spiritual strength.

2. Spiritual Reconnection: Through daily devotions, affirmations, and reflection, you’ll reconnect with God, allowing your faith to be the foundation of your healing process.

3. A New Soundtrack for Life: The curated playlist is not just for the duration of the devotional; it will become the soundtrack to your personal growth. Music has the power to remind you of where you’ve been and how far you’ve come, and the playlists will be a lasting tool for your healing.

4. A Personal Journal of Healing: After completing the journal prompts, you’ll have a personal, written record of your emotional journey—a testament to how much you’ve grown and are stronger.

1. Daily Inspiration for Your Soul: Each entry begins with carefully selected Bible verses or inspirational quotes that speak to your situation, offering comfort, guidance, and a reminder of God’s love. The verses and quotes will help you reconnect with your faith and remind you that you are not alone, even in the midst of pain. You’ll find peace and strength to heal from within as you read.

2. Curated Playlists to Move Your Spirit: Music is a powerful healer, and with "Headphones & Heartbreak," each day correlates to a song that accompanies the theme of that day’s devotional. Whether it’s the soothing rhythms of gospel, the uplifting beats of soul, or empowering pop anthems that remind you of your worth, these songs will help you process your feelings, lighten your emotional load, and bring you closer to a place of peace.

3. Journal Prompts to Help You Reflect and Heal: True healing comes from reading and reflection. Each day, you’ll be given thoughtful, personal prompts encouraging you to reflect on your emotional journey. These prompts will guide you through unpacking your feelings, exploring your inner thoughts, and beginning to release the weight of heartbreak. As you engage with the journaling process, you’ll gain clarity and understanding about your journey, helping you emerge stronger and more grounded.

How This Devotional Works

Meet The Authors Behind “Headphones & Heartbreaks”

Janelle and “Keisha” are besties who met at their alma mater, Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. Their friendship grew from experiencing heartbreaks at the same time. Life would have them hit a repeat button and go through breakups simultaneously again in their 30s. They wrote this devotional out of these heartbreaks, which tells the story of how they recovered using music and their reliance on their spiritual practices.

Rev. Tikeisha Harris, D. Min., pastors New Liberation AME Church in Maryland. Her mission is to move past church walls and dive into the community where the real action is. A prolific speaker, writer, and public intellectual, her ministry career spans print, podcasts, and pulpits. Learn more about Tikeisha at THSays.com.

What Readers Are Saying

  • "Thank you for this book. "Abandoned and passed over." This is how I am feeling right now. I'm so grateful for the transparency and sharing.

    Nic. J from Philly

  • Beautifully written essays of transformative quests through healing from heartbreak. We can certainly all relate to that! I loved every bit of it. Ate it right on up! Very thorough. There were moments that were so relatable that I almost got mad about decade old situations all over again. This book contained reminders that Gods love and Gods purpose are essential ingredients in healing. The Affirmation and Reflection sections are like little hugs. I needed those little hugs in between.

    Tiffany M. from Maryland

  • I really enjoyed it, and I am sure I am not the target reader since I am not a Christian! The writing was excellent and it was very well laid out with the different sections. I hope I never experience heartbreak again, but if I do, I will definitely read the book again!
